Locked Private Profile

Hi Team,

Please help me. My profile has been locked and private and dont know how and now i cant make it public.

Hi all,

 

If you are a new freelancer and don't earn money on Upwork within 90 days of your first proposal, or you choose not to submit a proposal within your first 90 days, your profile will change to private. 

 

When your profile is set to private it is not shown in freelancer search results but rest assured, clients are still able to see your profile when you submit proposals!

 

You can switch it back to public by simply logging out and back into your Upwork account again. Note: Your profile will be automatically reset to the visibility option you had. (The options are public, only to other Upwork users, or private.)

I want to make my Upwork profile public, but I encounter two error notifications when trying to do so. The error messages are: "There was an error loading this page: error [8aec62aecabc411e-ISB, 8aec62aecabc411e-ISB]. Please contact customer support for assistance: support.upwork.com." I need assistance with resolving these errors to change my profile visibility settings. Any help or guidance from the community would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Gustavo,

 

Thank you for reaching out to us. I have checked your account and I see here that you are an exclusive agency member and that your agency has set your profile visibility to private. 


I’d recommend discussing this with your agency owner or agency administrator as they can reset your profile visibility to “Public” from their end. You may also share this helpful link for more details about how to Manage the Agency Roster and Visibility.

Hey Clark,

 

My first time using this Forum as I noticed there is NO customer service. After reading through, I realize that this is a common issue in 2024, and that MANY people aren't recieving views after sending multiple proposals.

Support with a human is almost nonexistent these days. You either have to deal with Upwork's chatbot-- which will take you on a roller coaster ride you won't believe--or you can post a message in the Support Forum and a moderator will eventually get to you and assist.

 

Moderators monitor the Freelancers' forum too, but the Support Forum is designated for support issues, so it gets a little more attention.

Moreover, we strongly encourage everyone to engage with the chatbot to access the available support options. Asking for assistance directly may not provide sufficient information for the chatbot to be able to assist you appropriately - for example, creating a ticket for you with the right team according to your concern.
