Messages Issues

Anyone else having issues with messaging lately? My  interface just  spins and spin most of the time.  Using chrome.

Anyone affected by the problem with messages refusing to load:

 

You can access messages by finding the contract in the list of your contracts on your "My Jobs" Page, then click on the "Messages and Files" tab.

Messages load fine (if somewhat sluggishly) from there for me (Firefox and Safari)

Hello! I am having issues accessing my messages on the website as well as on the app, however, everything else seems to be working properly. I get the message ''Skip to main content''. When I want to view a contract, I also get a jumbled view of the page. I am attaching screenshots. Would love to get information and help on the subject, since I cannot contact my clients. 

Follow these steps hope it will be fixed:
1. Use another Internet Connection
2. Clear cache and cookies.
3. Relogged on your account
Hope it will be solved ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi, I've tried on another PC and a different browser as well. Now I cannot even log into my account. I hope it is understandable I cannot use ''another'' internet connection ๐Ÿ˜•

Could you please confirm if you're using a VPN? If so, could you please try disconnecting, clearing cache and cookies, and trying again?

Hi! I am not using VPN. I managed to log myself back in and open my messages, by hot spotting my internet connection from a phone. Once I opened the messages through my browser and the app I connected back to the old internet connection it continued working properly. 

I have to mention as well that earlier it worked on my old connection for around 5 minutes and then it stopped, so I assumed it is an issue with Upwork. 

I cannot access messages. The spinner just continues to spin.

Have you tried to check using a different browser, or after clearing your cache and cookies?

The system seemed to fix itself soon after I posted about it here. Was fine for a couple days. Now it's back to its old trick of not accessing messages. Its a periodic problem. Comes and goes. None of the suggested fixes seems to do anything. Sometimes I can access messages, sometimes I can't. Like right now, for example. I click on the messages button and the little spinner just spins forever.

 

Same here. Put a help ticket in a few days ago, sent them everything they asked for:

 

If the issue persists, please provide us the following:
 
-- Console tab for the problematic page(s), which you can view by pressing the following keys on PC: Ctrl + Shift + J (or Cmd + Alt/Option + J on a Mac)

-- HAR file replicating issue, please provide article below which explains how to generate it

It's still having the same problem and they haven't gotten back to me yet even after I followed up. And yes, since this is how we respond to clients and get work, it's very important that it get fixed ASAP.

In addition to not being able to access messages, the system is no longer sending me message alerts via email like it used to do.

Web messages are still hit and miss. More often than not, just the wait-spin of death.

Hi.

 

I'm facing this issue where my Messages tab isn't opening on the desktop, meaning that when I click "Messages", it directs me to a load screen and it's been stuck on that loading screen for an hour now (usually it loads within a minute).

 

I had to use Messages from Upwork mobile app to get files from the client to do my work and I'm hoping that there is a way I can fix this since I prefer using desktop only for Upwork.

Got the same problem over a 2 weeks already.

Messages are working only at the upwork App.

 

1. Cleared the cache, but should I clear it EACH TIME when I enter the messages section? โ€” Sounds awful.

2. Why should I change the browser when I like what i'm using!? What a heck?

I love apps that I'm using, and I dont want to change it in case your website working bad.

 

Its not the solution! Its a kick to the users from the UpWork - "get rid of me".

 

Why dont you make a "magic kick" to the engineers to fix the problem.

It's two weeks already. And its NOT working.

He already did.

With complete misunderstanding of a problem.

He thinks, that messages at my App dont work.

That was about 10 hours ago.

Aaannnd... no answer after that.

So... what do we have at this stage.

Three days ago the Support team asked me to provide additional info of a system and browers i'm using. Since - no movement. No solution. Messages still dont work.

My clients - old and new ones also commenting - they cant read messages using browser. Most of them (new ones!) dont use UpWork App.

So - we can not work properly using Browser messages section.

 

Questions are:

Any terms of REAL solution? How much more time shall we wait till start working?

HOW will you compensate the losses?

It will help.

That did not fix it for me. Upwork says this is a known issue for others as well and they working on a fix.

Anyone else's Messages page not loading, taking forever, or timing out?

Clear cache? 

 

I know I know but this worked for me yesterday when I was having the same problem.

No, it did not help. It's always worked fine up until a few days ago. All my other pages on this site and everything else on my computer and using the internet is working fine with no changes.

I'm also experencing this issue with Firefox. Having allot of trouble getting messages to load; sometimes works and sometimes dosen't. It makes it very hard to communicate with clients; for instance what happens when I need to load into messages for a meeting and can't get in?

I've had an open ticket open for over a week. The last update said they are still working on the messages problem.

Hi,

It's been 2 days, since I am unable to load messages. It doesn't show any error message. But it keeps loading.

 

I tried clearing my cache, but it did not work. I am not using any using Upwork in Google chrome on Mac. How can I solve this?
