My Payment Method is Inactive

Your withdrawal method isn’t active yet. For security reasons, you need to wait 3 days after you add a new withdrawal method before you can use it.

Hi Huzaifa,

 

If your payment method is inactive, it can be because of one or both of the following reasons:

 

  • It was added in the last three days: For security reasons, any new payment method will become active in three days. 
  • You need to provide your tax information: All freelancers who are U.S. persons should file a Form W-9 with Upwork to access their funds. You sign electronically by submitting the form.

If you’re not a U.S. taxpayer, you must file a Form W-8BEN instead. The Form W-8BEN is used to confirm that you’re not a U.S. taxpayer and that Upwork is not required to withhold taxes from your earnings. Tip: You can use your legal name as it appears in your passport or other official documents.

Thank you for sharing your concern. I checked and see that both of your bank accounts are active. Please try to reload your page or log out then log back in.

My withdrawal method is inactive.  Three days was finally a long time ago. The tax form is full.

Hi there,

I am already facing this same problem writing now, I have not purchased any
single connect presently, How to assist or help you here..? I have only the
wait and watch mode now, Neither help me upwork, nor anybody to me. If I
have any strong things, I will definitely help you properly.

Hello, I'm a student and I don't pay taxes yet. My paiement is currently inactive because I have to fill the Tax Identification Number in the Tax information section.And since I don't have one , I don't know what should I fill it with. Can someone please help ?

I see that you've already completed your Tax Information. Now, your payment method is undergoing security verification, and it will take 3 days to become active. Don't hesitate to let us know if you need further assistance,

I'm an Indian citizen and live in the UK, I have registered here for freelance work and asking for the W-8BEN tax information. How to do that and I didn't file tax information before. How to proceed further, do I need to apply for this form? If yes, are there any restrictions for migrants in the UK? Please anyone in the UK from India  - help me with this problem.

Hello Upwork Support Team,

I hope you're doing well. I am experiencing an issue with linking my PayPal account to receive payments. I added my PayPal account to receive a payment, but I received the following message: "Your payment on 17-Oct-2024 could not be processed."

Additionally, I noticed that the PayPal logo appears in grey instead of blue, which might indicate a problem with the connection.

I removed and re-added my PayPal account, but the issue persists. Could you please help me resolve this so I can successfully receive payments through PayPal?

I have added US bank details. Now that its been 3 weeks, my withdrawal method still showing inactive. My tax information is also completed. I am non US citizen.

I checked your support ticket, and it looks like the team has already responded. You will need to contact PayPal Support to check the status of your account.
