Phone Number is already in use

Hello, Upwork

I too am having trouble verifying my number. When I get my money to my local bank, I can not get code verifying to my phone or my E-mail, I tried it in 2 days and it is the same problem. Would you be able to have a team member reach out to me as well?

Hi Leonardo,

 

If you need help verifying your phone number, it would be best if you reach out directly to our support team so they can assist you within a private and secure channel of communication. 

 

How do I reach a human in customer support?

 

  1. Select Get Support at the bottom of the Help Center page
  2. Type a question or topic and select "Send." The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. If we don't find the information you need after a few tries, you’ll see an option under the article selections to "Contact Support"
  4. Select "Contact Support" and follow the options provided

hi, im trying to create a profile and get the error "This number is being used by another account". I also cannot get through the chatbot to actually raise a support tickets- its really unhelpful. How can I get help with this?

I am working on setting up my profile and when I get to the end it says "This number is being used by another account."  I have had this number for a long time and have never set up an account on here before.

Hi,

 

I am trying to finish setting up my new account. I had one previously while in school, and I used a google email that has since been deactivated, meaning I am unable to log in or gain access to the account. It will not let me use my phone number for the new account, because it's linked to the old one. Please help me delete the old account so I can finally create this new one. Thank you.

You cannot create new account. It is rules violation. Use old one (single one) if it can be unblocked.

Hello,

 

I am also trying to make a new account. The email linked to the old one was deacticated, meaning I'll never be able to log into the account again. But my phone number is associated with the other account and will not let me use it for the new one. Someone please assist me with this. The automated customer service is not helpful for this issue and I've been unable to get in touch with a real representative. Thank you.

The email cannot be reactivated and I do not have access to the old account. Therefore it is necessary to delete the old account and create a new one. So yes, I should be able to create a new account through the assistance of an Upwork support specialist without violating any rules.

Hey there, I previously opened a ticket about my phone number being in use and it was closed due to being fixed.  However, I tried to apply to jobs today and I got the same issue.  Wondering if anything can be done about this, thank you!
