Phone Number is already in use

I am having a similar issue. I am setting up a personal freelancer account and I need a phone number to proceed with the final step but my phone number is also being used for a client account which I need. Could someone advise please.

I am receiving this error when i want to register my phone number "Phone number already in use. Please, check it and try again. If you're still having problems, please contact support."

Hello, I am having the same problem with verification of the account, it says that my phone number is already in use. Can you please help, this had been a problem for almost two months.

Hello,

 

I just created a new account today, and I got to the phone number section, and it is already attached to another account. I guess I created an account a while back. So, I tried closing the new account, and tried linking my email address I actually want to use with my old account, and it is saying its already used with another user. Yes! It's now linked with the new account I just closed!  Can you please help me have my up-to-date email and phone number on the same account? Thank you

Hi,

I had a previous upwork account under the email of **Edited for Community Guidelines**  I used google signin to login to this account.  That email account has been deactivated, so I no longer am able to sign in to upwork using that email address.

 

Today, I am trying to post jobs using my new company email address **Edited for Community Guidelines** I am unable to assign my phone number to this account, because it is used in my previous account.

 

I need assistance moving my phone number from the old account to the new one.

 

I tried using your chatbot, but it's is absolute crap.

did you give Upwork support  the following information???  Your old  email address, Your new Upwork account email address and Your phone number??

Team, this is a mess, I can't even find my old "ticket" post. Please just email me so we can sort this. I have two Upwork accounts, one for personal, and one for work. I have only one phone number that needs to be associated with both. Please assist.

Hi Sam,

 

Please be reminded that users are only allowed to have one account and having several ones violates Upwork's TOS. However, if you wish to be a client and a freelancer, you can do so and you will use the same account to log in to work but will have separate user profiles. You will be able to easily switch between them as needed. You may check this help article to learn more about the process.

 

Could you please send me a PM with more information about the other account you're referring to? We'll have that reviewed and assist you accordingly. Looking forward to your message.

Hi there,

 

I am just signing up to become a freelancer with Upwork but once I get to the final page of setup it asks me to verify my phone number. At first it would say it's sent me a code but I never received nothing but now when I press 'Verify Pin' it doesn't even take me to the next page. Can someone help please?

I am being asked to verify my phone number which I am being told already exsists on Upwork. 

 

Please can you remove the account its allocated to and confirm for this account as I am keen to progress and used your services however this is preventing me from doing so. 

 

Also, how do I direct message the upwork team as I canno tlocate on the site and Twitter keeps pushing me here?

I am trying to apply for job postings, but when I am told to enter my phone number for verification, it says it is already in use when this is the only account that I have tried applying from. Tried getting help from the bot but nothing worked. Please advise!
