Phone Number is already in use

I am having a similar issue. I am setting up a personal freelancer account and I need a phone number to proceed with the final step but my phone number is also being used for a client account which I need. Could someone advise please.

Hi Arjay, 

Can I also have a ticket? I am creating a profile today but it doesn't let me finish because it says 'Phone number is already in use' 
I believe it is being used on my client account which i just closed this morning.
I know the email for it. 

 

I would appreciate any help please.

I am losing my mind trying to get support through Upwork. I am so very disappointed, to say the least, with how difficult this has been.

I cannot get past verification through my phone as it keeps saying, "Phone number already in use. Please check it and try again. If you're still having problems, please contact support."

Can someone please help me resolve this?

When I enter my phone number I get the message that the number is used by another account and to please enter another one. I do not have an account with UpWork other than the one I am trying to create. It will not allow me to post a job without verifying my phone number. Please advise

Hi! I hope your having a good night, I'd like to ask, where exactly are you locating your phone number? When you are trying to log in into your account? Or are you creating an account?

I just tried to verify again on my own and I am still getting the

I am having the exact same issue. I want to create a new account but can't because of my phone number already in use with an old account. Can someone help me disconnect my number from the old account?

Having multiple accounts isn't allowed, and it's considered a serious violation of the Terms of Service. Can you please click on my name and send me a private message with the registered email address of the account in question? I'll be happy to look into it.

It now says my phone number is already associated with another account. I tried setting one up a long time ago but had it deleted. How do I move forward?
