Phone Number is already in use

I am having a similar issue. I am setting up a personal freelancer account and I need a phone number to proceed with the final step but my phone number is also being used for a client account which I need. Could someone advise please.

Hello, I am also having the same issue and it seems to be a quest to find any real support to talk to. Please someone help me as I am unble to get any jobs without verfication. This has been ongoing for 7 months!

I have a similar issue. I created a talent account awhile back. Now I'm wokring with a company who wants to utilize Upwork to find talent. I am trying to post a job and need to verify my account with my phone number. Because I only have one phone number, it is already linked to my talent account. Is there a way around this?

Firstly, I'm not a fan of platforms that make you post on a forum for a simple fix. especially when the existing posts on the same problem do nothing to address the issue other than say stuff like 'We've escalated your issue; here's your ticket'.

Anyway, for some reason, I'm getting the 'Phone number already in use. Please, check it and try again. If you're still having problems, please contact support.' message. Of course, I've "contacted support", which is a roundabout way of sending you here.

So, how can I verify my mobile number? I need to apply for a job. I have a current Client account and another Client account, which I deactivated before this one.

Who has a solution for a duplicate phone number? I must have an old account from years ago but I'm not sure. Either way there's a duplicate phone number even though I still receive the codes on my phone and unable to contact anyone to assist with this issue.

I can't access the old email, so created a new account and can't verify it because the phone # is linked to the old account.  The bot is terrible and this is taking forever.  Please help.

I am having a similar issue. I have completed my profile, found some jobs to consider, but when I go to phone verification it does nothing. I checked the phone number and it is accurate. I removed it and put it back in, no luck. please help.

Hi there. I'm have an issue which stops me from applying to jobs because it always says "phone number already in use" on the phone number verfication stage. If I go on my profile it says this same number despite it apparently being used on another account. Despite many headaches regarding this I can't see a way around it, can someone help?

Thanks, I messaged another guy that said he was going to help but he never responded.  Your site has many bugs.  It's even difficult to know when you responded to me and then when you click from notifications or from other pages, it puts you back on the original post in this thread.  All very bad along with the customer service adn how long it takes.  Just wanted to point this out, as I want to hire someone asap and have a post I've been trying to put up since last friday and all very discouraging.  Don't recall having so many problems with you all in the past.
