Phone Number is already in use

Hello, Upwork

I too am having trouble verifying my number. When I get my money to my local bank, I can not get code verifying to my phone or my E-mail, I tried it in 2 days and it is the same problem. Would you be able to have a team member reach out to me as well?

Hi Leonardo,

 

If you need help verifying your phone number, it would be best if you reach out directly to our support team so they can assist you within a private and secure channel of communication. 

 

How do I reach a human in customer support?

 

  1. Select Get Support at the bottom of the Help Center page
  2. Type a question or topic and select "Send." The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. If we don't find the information you need after a few tries, you’ll see an option under the article selections to "Contact Support"
  4. Select "Contact Support" and follow the options provided

Hi, it's not letting me verify my phone number because it's supposedly "in use with another account." I did the two step authentication as I proposed workaround, but when I went to apply for a job, it wouldn't let e without verifying my phone number. I don't think I have another account, so what do I do? I've been going in circles.

I am unable to apply for any work because my phone number is apparently being used by another account, but I have never used Upwork before to my knowledge.  I cannot figure out how to get to a human or submit a ticket, and I am worried about my phone number being used and not being able to use Upwork at all. Please help ASAP

Hi Annie,

 

I haven't received an update from anyone in Upwork nor can I see the ticket regarding this issue. I'm still having the same error with my phone number which is preventing me from finishing my profile and applying to jobs. When or how can this be fixed? Or who can I contact for support? I've never used Upwork before so I don't know why it's not letting me add my phone number. I don't know what else to do. Please help.

Just set 1.5hr setting up profile and it won't allow me to verify my phone number.  Says it's in use with another profile.

To my knowledge, I've never used UPwork before.  Can someone please assist?  I see others have had similar issue but the responses I saw were that support would contact them directly.  How do I reach a REAL person that can help!

Please help me with this!!! I created my profile and had no issues verifying my id or phone number. I have the same phone number as I did when I created the profile. I successfully submitted one proposal then every time after that I could read the job but as soon as I clicked the submit button a new web page opens up prompting me for phone verification. I click verify but no codes come. I click resend code. Nothing. I truly call me instead. No calls come. I have been trying to solve this for two weeks and I get all these stupid answers from the bot. My name is the same the number hasn't changed I did upload my ID. IDK but I need some help or I'm just going to quit. It's extremely frustrating to miss jobs I feel my perfect match.

Nothing in your profile validates what you're saying. In fact, your profile is nonexistent.

 

You need to contact Upwork Support if you're serious about keeping your profile and fixing the problem.

I don’t understand what you mean. I’m in my Upwork account now. I log in using my google account. **Edited for Community Guidelines** I have submitted proposals and I just got invited to bid another. I’m working on my project catalog as we speak and I am receiving Upworks notifications. What do you mean my profile doesn’t exist??? How am I supposed to reach support when you don’t provide a phone number ???
