Phone Number is already in use

I am having a similar issue. I am setting up a personal freelancer account and I need a phone number to proceed with the final step but my phone number is also being used for a client account which I need. Could someone advise please.

That would be easier to do if it was clear as to _how_ we could reach out and communicate with someone who is not an AI chat.

I have reached out and still after weeks of waiting this problem is not resolved for me either. I can't apply for any work due to this issue.

I've been having the same issue, i am not able to apply to anything because my phone number can't be verified. If this doesn't get resolved on my end within a few days, I will be closing this account & going to Fiber instead.

I also need support. I can't get past the AI chat bot and I just upgraded my account. So that's unfortunate. Also, in my requests tab I do not see an option to open  new ticket. Can you hep me? And is it possible to figure out why chat support does't come with my upgrade option?

The phone number you used can only be associated with one account. I see that you created a separate client account, but know that you can have a client and a freelancer profile in a single account if you choose to do so. Check out this guide for more information on how you can do that.

Hi Luiggi, unfortunately this won't work because the accounts must be on two separate emails. I use Upwork both through my work (& work email) & personally (& personal email). But I only have one phone number. Can you please assist?

I am having this same issue. My phone number is tied to an old email address. I even downloaded the google authenticator app, but it keeps asking me to verify my phone number. When I try, it says: This number is being used by another account. The bot has not helped me.
