Phone Number is already in use

I am having a similar issue. I am setting up a personal freelancer account and I need a phone number to proceed with the final step but my phone number is also being used for a client account which I need. Could someone advise please.

I am also having the same issue as the rest of the individuals in this thread. I have tried ALL of the trouble shooting and have reached my peak frustration level with your AI.  Please assist me in getting this fixed so that I can start applying for work.

Joanne, I'm having the same issue. My phone number is already attached to an Upwork account I use for work, but I'd like to also attach it to my personal Upwork account. Can you please have support reach out?

The phone number you used can only be associated with one account. I see that you created a separate client account, but know that you can have a client and a freelancer profile in a single account if you choose to do so. Check out this guide for more information on how you can do that.

Hi Luiggi, unfortunately this won't work because the accounts must be on two separate emails. I use Upwork both through my work (& work email) & personally (& personal email). But I only have one phone number. Can you please assist?

I'm having a similar issue to everyone else. I already used the guide to create a talent account under my client account, but my phone number can still not be verified. I have tried chat support many times over the last week. I would really like a ticket to be created or to get in touch with a real person. Please.

Hi, 

While posting a job, upwork asks for phone number, when I input a phone #, it says "This number is being used by another account". I believe this is a common issue on this thread and a bug which needs a permanent fix. Thank you

I am having this same issue. My phone number is tied to an old email address. I even downloaded the google authenticator app, but it keeps asking me to verify my phone number. When I try, it says: This number is being used by another account. The bot has not helped me.
