Proposals Withdrawn by Upwork Due to Identiy Verification Needed

I submitted 3 proposals, only to learn they were withdrawn by Upwork due to a need to verify my identity. I have since completed the verification process and understand the importance of this. However, I am a little frustrated that I spent the time to submit the proposals and 48 connects, only to have them withdrawn, It would make sense to require identity verification before a freelancer can submit proposals. Is there a way to get these connects refunded? Or better yet, have the proposals reinstated? On a side note, the verification process wasn't as seamless as I thought it would be, it took a second form of ID to verify my identity.

It is common. Some freelancers lost 100s proposals but not 3.

I saw that some freelancers was refunded after forcing support. Many wasn't. You can try.

Thanks for the information. It seems like a big opportunity to improve the platform.
