Dear Upwork Team,
I want to report a serious scammer who is taking advantage of developers on your platform. Here’s a breakdown of how this individual operates:
- Direct Hiring to Avoid History Checks
This person directly hires developers so that we can’t see their past work history or the negative feedback they’ve received.
- Convincing Developers to Work on Test Tasks
They lure developers into agreeing to a test task for $200, making it seem like they are a potential long-term client. When we ask to review the task beforehand, they refuse and persuade us to approve their offer without giving proper details.
- Manipulative Tactics and Threats
Once we agree to the task, they reveal much larger, more complex modules that far exceed the value of the agreed amount. They then threaten us with bad reviews if we don’t complete the tasks. Despite our best efforts to complete these requests within the tight deadlines (often within 2-3 days), they continuously add more tasks. They also use abusive language during communication. The value of the work requested is far greater than what they are willing to pay. Once the code is submitted, they manipulate our conversations by selectively editing out their bad language and twisting our words to make it seem like we were in the wrong when communicating with Upwork.
Using Developers for Cheap Labor
This scammer manages multiple modules on GitHub with over 100 developers, allowing them to complete large-scale tasks at a very low cost.
I kindly ask Upwork to stand by the hardworking developers who are being exploited. You can verify my honest work and professionalism by reviewing my work history on the platform. Furthermore, I believe this scammer is successfully using this strategy against other developers as well, and it is critical to investigate and take necessary action.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust you will help protect the integrity of your platform.
Best regards,
Akshay Solanki

I talked about what it would be like when the upwork forced us into slavery by removing the opportunity to delete or apeal the review. Here it is.
I'm sorry you fell into a trap. Close the contact immediately and leave an honest review about the scoundrel. Warn others. Yes, you will get your negative feedback but you have no choice. To be correct, have: you can get it now or spend a month doing free work and get it anyway. Upwork will not help you: everything happens as they planned.
