The beneficiary name is mismatched

My name on Upwork and Paypal account are same as "Hamza Jamshed" but still upwork is saying, "The beneficiary name is mismatched." Can anyone help please with this ?

Hi Soner,

 

Our account support team actively reviews verified name mismatches. Please allow up to 4 business days for the team to review the name mismatch on your account. If our team finds an issue with your payment method, we will reach out to you directly with instructions on how to correct it.

 

In case you're adding a company account, the team will reach out to complete verification. You'll be asked to provide personal identification as well as one of the following:

  • An original bank statement showing the company name, as well as your name
  • A business license showing your name and the company name
  • Articles of Incorporation showing the company name with you as an authorized agent/owner

You can learn more about this in this help article.

 

If it’s been more than 4 business days and you still see the name mismatch notification on your account, you can contact support by: 

 

  1. Please visit Contact Support and click the ‘Chat with Upwork' button.
  2. Type a question or topic and select ‘Send’. The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. The chatbot will ask you to confirm if you need additional help. If you confirm that you need additional help, you will be asked to confirm the account type you need help with.
  4. From there, the support options available to you will be listed. Select either of the options to be able to contact the Upwork Support Team.

Also please note. I waited 3 weeks after receiving the mismatich error for someone to reach out. No one did. Then I created the ticket noted above. It was acknowledged but no one assisted in resolving the issue. I created the ticket 9 days ago. Now I am here asking for help. I am not sure what to do.

Hello Luigi, my name on my Upwork profile is "Victor Olisaemeka" however I made the mistake of entering an account with "Chidubem Olisaemeka".  I realised the error and contacted the account manager and I got the name changed to my exact Upwork name. 

However, Upwork deactivated that payment method saying that there was a name mismatch even though the names match now.

Please, what do I do?

hello upwork , my name is same as my paypal account even tho same email used in upwork its the same email in my paypal could yu please help me with this issue "Payment method verification in progress

Your payment method has been deactivated because the beneficiary name on your payment method does not match the name on your Upwork account."

It's been over 48 hours and my bank account it still deactivated.

It says that Payment method verification on progress, beneficiary name is mismatched but I have the same upwork account and bank account name.

My name is Cristiana and I am new to upwork, I also had a mismatch. But I also wonder why we pay and why we need a PayPal account? I'm here to receive employment from home because I am super broke and cannot work outside of the home. In my past experience they have run my card when there's no money in there

I had this SAME ISSUE and NO ONE HAS REAXHED OUT TO ME IN 4 MONTHS!!!! I am rettaining an attorney. 

It says my name is mismatched despite it being EXACTLY THE SAME on BOTH the platform and the account. I have accepted payments for FOUR YEARS through the same account and now it tells me its mismatched and no one has contacted me in MONTHS to resolve. I am livid. 

Edit: I've contacted an attorney and will move forward with an FTC complaint if this is not mitigated by EOD.

Hello Luggi,

Having a similar problem here.

My verified name(last name) is translated into English with a different letter "Q" instead of "K"

When adding a payment method, it just keeps being disabled due to the mismatch in the bank account beneficiary name and Upwork verified name.
