The beneficiary name is mismatched

Hi there, I linked my PayPal account but I forgot that I registered my upwork account under my middle name, now it's blocked, I did the request for the name change already, I just wanted to know if there's any other thing I need to do or keep in mind

Hi all,

 

Our account support team actively reviews verified name mismatches. Please allow up to 4 business days for the team to review the name mismatch on your account. If our team finds an issue with your payment method, we will reach out to you directly with instructions on how to correct it.

 

In case you're adding a company account, the team will reach out to complete verification. You'll be asked to provide personal identification as well as one of the following:

 

  • An original bank statement showing the company name, as well as your name
  • A business license showing your name and the company name
  • Articles of Incorporation showing the company name with you as an authorized agent/owner

You can learn more about this in this help article.

 

If it’s been more than 4 business days and you still see the name mismatch notification on your account, you can contact support by: 

 

  1. Please visit Contact Support and click the ‘Chat with Upwork' button.
  2. Type a question or topic and select ‘Send’. The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. The chatbot will ask you to confirm if you need additional help. If you confirm that you need additional help, you will be asked to confirm the account type you need help with.
  4. From there, the support options available to you will be listed. Select either of the options to be able to contact the Upwork Support Team.

Hello Im Andres Gomez, Freelancer and I have a problem with my withdrawal method "The beneficiary name is mismatched" but Already check that my name account its the same as my paypal, And still showing that error, I need someone to help me!

Hi, it seems like my japanese name hasn't been approved because it has kanji on it. But my name is exactly the same, and it is on the id I have shown already please check again.

Hi everyone,

 

 My name (middle name & surname) has changed due to marriage. This is also the case with my bank account name (because I have undergone an official change of name, and I have documents to prove this).

 

I have been trying to update my Upwaork verified name to reflect this as well as my payment method. I was told that the Upwork Support Team would contact me within 72 hours  but it's been over 5 days.

 

Please, how do I update my Upwork account details to reflect my new name as my VERIFIED name (including on my earnings certificate and invoices) and the name for my payment details?

 

Please, help. Thank you.

Is it possible to withdraw my earnings into a corporate account (I have a consulting agency - just myself) instead of a personal account? How can I do this?

Thank you for sharing your concern. You can add your company bank account as a payment method as long as you are the owner or the authorized signer of the bank account you are adding. Once added, our team will review and will send you a follow-up email should they need more information from you to help them approve your payment method. I am using a wise business account as my bank account but got a name mismatch. It has been 5 days now, and I haven't received any instruction from the support team. Also, Can I use the account detail proof from Wise to verify the association between me and that account?

I ask this because I created a wise business account quite a long time ago and have used it for international transactions. Because it is a business account, I didn't use my full name as the Holder's name; I used something else that represents me and my business. So, I am thinking that maybe I could also use that for my Upwork.

However, you said, "Please note that your name on the payment method must match the registered name on the Upwork account."

 

And your help center said "You may use your company bank, but You need to verify yourself and show that you have the right to authorize or you are the owner of that account."

Could you help me clarify on that part? Maybe my interpretation is not right?

My payment was under a different name than mine as it had my middle name and the accout had my last name. Although, I changed the name on the payment method, it has not been verified till now and I can't withdraw money.

I added a payment method (Elevate pay) with a U.S. bank account but it keep gives me "The beneficiary name is mismatched" 
My name on upwork is "Ahmed Elsayed" and the full name on the bank account is "Ahmed Elsayed Abdalla Abdalmotalb Eldamhogy" 
I tried to change my name on upwork to be same as the bank account but this didn't resolve the issue.
And It takes morte than 2 weeks and the problem didn't resolved from upwork support as well.
How I can solve this.

I'm facing the same issue! My beneficiary name on the bank account is Mazen Aly, and I changed the name on Upwork to Mazen Aly. However, my full name is Mazen Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Aly. On the notification panel on Upwork, it says that my financial account is Mazen Ibrahim not Mazen Aly, so I'm not sure how to solve this.
