I am registered as a freelancer on Upwork, and I’ve also created an agency with its own name.
I would like to receive payments for the agency’s work into my company’s bank account. However, I encountered the following issue: “Your payment account name does not match your name on Upwork.”
Could you please clarify what I need to do in this situation?
1. Changing the agency’s name would be very difficult due to the significant branding efforts already invested.
2. While it would be somewhat easier to rename my company to match the agency’s name, this process will take time and involve additional expenses.
Would it be possible to use different names for the agency and the bank account? I am the beneficiary of the company and can provide the certificate of incorporation as proof. However, I’m unable to reach a live person in the chat for assistance.
I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this issue.

Even though I typed the name on my bank account multiple times , it is still showing name mismatch . Hence I can't able to get paid 70$ . It's my first time on upwork and i am feeling depressed . I recently changed my bank details to my married name so I need to update my verified name in Upwork but changing the name in the contact info settings does not seem to work. My verified name is still under my Maiden name. Tried asking the chat bot but just keeps on sending me the verify identity article, but when I go to the verify your identity tab in my setting it does not give any option to re-verify my name.
Need help human help ASAP.

My direct to bank payment method has been deactivated since my upwork account name does not match the name in my bank account. I used my first name and the surname for the upwork account, I haven't used my full name for the Upwork account, but in my bank account I have my name in surname with my initials. Any chance you could have my payment method activated already? Thank you!

I am experiencing an issue while attempting to add my PayPal as a payment method. Despite the names on both my PayPal and upwork accounts being identical, I receive the error "The name on this withdrawal method and the name on your Upwork account don’t match exactly." Over the past 5 days, I have tried removing and re-adding PayPal and even adjusted my Upwork name to match my PayPal account precisely. Could you please help resolve this issue?

Also, my certificate of earning prints my name wrongly. I provided my driver ID through the identification verification process, but no idea why my name is printed wrongly.
