UK Location Verification - Unable to do

Hello, I have recently moved to the UK. I have a biometric residence permit but I do not have a British passport.

 

When I tried to upload my BRP, the following text is displayed:

 

"It looks like you uploaded an unsupported type of ID.Please try again with an image of your state issued U.K. driving licence or British passport."

 

How could I overcome this and successfully get my ID verified?

Hi TAI,

 

It looks like you're trying to apply to UK-only job posts. In order to apply for these, you must verify your location. If you encounter any issues while trying to verify your location, please know that you can reach out to our support team by clicking the 'Chat with Upwork' button on the Contact Support page.


If you'd prefer not to verify your location at this time, that's ok! Switch the feed you're looking at to My Feed and you can search and apply to job posts that are Worldwide.

They verify your identity and location with documents then the bank account is fully functional able to produce statements, proceed transactions

Hi 

i have questions, i am living in Uk and my passport is indian but i uploaded  Indian passport as id proof which is verified but now my location documents not approved by upwork team even i have attached many documents which is showing UK address 

please let me know the solutions

Hi, I'm in the same situation as many people here, resident in the UK for 12 years with full settlement status and can't verify my identity. Both my passport and driving license are Portuguese, what can I do here to be able to apply to UK only jobs?

Thank you for reaching out. Could you please try submitting your documents again? I checked, and it seems that your previous submission was rejected because the image of your ID card was not acceptable. Please avoid cropping, altering, or uploading a screenshot of your ID card. You may complete the ID Verification process again through this page. You can find more information in this help article.

Weird one, but the verification code for my phone number starts with a '0', and whenever I type it in and hit 'Enter', the 0 disappears and I'm given an error message saying I need to enter a 5 digit code, as now there's only 4 numbers in the box. I suspect this is a bug on Upwork's end, but the chatbot is pretty useless. Not sure what to do now...

I have the same problem. I contacted LinkedIn support but haven’t received any assistance. I have a UK provisional driving license and a BRP, but I’m unable to complete the verification process.

Hi,

 

My ID verification was not processed because I don't have a UK passport but I live in the UK.

Your system asking me to upload a government-issued photo ID to get accepted as I'm working from the UK, where I pay my taxes. I don't have such ID (UK driving licence etc.)

 

What should I do?

I am both a UAE resident and a UK National, my profile is verified with my UAE ID and it says that i am based in UAE, now that i have moved to UK, i want to change the location and verify using my british passport. How can i do that ?

Hello,

The country of my passport does not match my address as I live abroad so I'm unable to verify my ID. 

I tried getting help from the chatbot but it hasn't helped me. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hi,

I have a Norwegian passport as I grew up there.

 

However, I have studied, worked and lived in the UK for over 5 years. Which is why my ID and my location show two different countries. I have settled status/indefinite leave to remain, however when I upload my sharecode for Upwork to confirm my location they reply with:

"We have reviewed your submission for location verification. Unfortunately, we could not approve the image provided as the document type submitted is unacceptable"

 

How else can I prove that I am legally living and working in the UK, even if I don't have a UK passport? 

They also said the same when uploading a bank statement or tenancy contract. It seems the main issue is that my ID is not from the same country as my location.

Hi Ronna, I have received the same email again now (10:49pm GMT). This is the fourth time I'm receiving the email. I've tried bank statement, settled status PDF, settled status share code etc.

 

I am not sure what else I can provide to prove that I'm legally living in and working in the UK even if my passport is Norwegian. Any adivce?
