i am not able to pay for jobs with my visa card from Ghana. The final confirm and pay button remains grey and doesnt allow for payment to be made.

In general, this happens when the transactions you’re attempting on your card keep being declined by the bank. Please contact your card-issuing bank for more information about the specific charge decline.

I am trying to send an offer. When I click "Fund contract & hire" I recive an error message"Sorry, we couldn't charge the billing method you selected. Please try a different one."
The problem is that I had already hired the same person with the exatly same card - nothing chenged since. I also got in touch with my bank - they said there is no issue on their end,

I'm trying to hire someone, however the payment doesn't go through, i have tried two cards WISE and NICKEL. both of them get charged then immediately refunded and i get an error as the following on Upwork :
"Sorry, we couldn't charge the billing method you selected. Please try a different one. If you still need help, contact support"
i even tried paypal but they charge and refund

Same problem
Created a contract to invite a client to the platform, but the client's funds that he transfers to pay for the contract keep getting bounced back and get an error as the following on Upwork : "Sorry, we couldn't charge the billing method you selected. Pleas try a different one. If you still need help, contact customer support".
The client used different Visa and Pay Pal cards
The client is now waiting for a response from support

Dear Upwork Team,
I’m encountering a serious issue with my payment method. I have a valid credit card with a good limit, and after speaking with my bank, they confirmed that the payment is processing on their end. However, they also mentioned that the issue is on the merchant's (Upwork's) side, as the payment is being reversed. They advised me that only Upwork can resolve this.
I’ve hired a talent but I’m unable to pay her, and I also cannot hire anyone else due to this issue. Every time I attempt to add a new payment method, it fails to charge, even though everything is fine with my bank.
This is a critical issue that needs to be resolved as soon as possible. Please look into this urgently.

We have met duplicate payment problem, the same date, same amount, just different ref num. NO one can explain what happens, and only the AI asking the question again and again with endless repeating. Can the customer got live people help when really necessary instead of AI?
There should be support service, not just collecting money. Please can someoone who can help contact me for this problem.

There is nothing wrong with my card as I have already contacted with my bank however upwork keeps rejecting my card.

I am unable to fund further milestones to my freelancer. I faced the same issue while hiring her but after
1) refreshing
2) Removing & Adding debit cards
Finally HDFC Debit card had worked. but now again when i try to fund another milestone facing same issues but the previous solution doesn't seem to work.
I have international payments enabled & sufficient balance in my account. Why is this happening ?? I have even filling Tax information.

Hello Jc,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with your billing method. Could you please try removing your PayPal account from your Upwork account? After that, please log into PayPal and cancel the billing agreement with Upwork. Once you’ve done that, you can re-add PayPal, and this should help re-enable the billing agreement. Let us know if you need further help after doing so.
