Unable to add/use payment method

i am not able to pay for jobs with my visa card from Ghana. The final confirm and pay button remains grey and doesnt allow for payment to be made.

 

any help?

Hi all,

 

In general, this happens when the transactions you’re attempting on your card keep being declined by the bank. Please contact your card-issuing bank for more information about the specific charge decline.

If you’re still experiencing issues after checking with your bank, you can contact support by:

 

  1. Please visit Contact Support and click the ‘Chat with Upwork' button.
  2. Type a question or topic and select ‘Send’. The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. The chatbot will ask you to confirm if you need additional help. If you confirm that you need additional help, you will be asked to confirm the account type you need help with.
  4. From there, the support options available to you will be listed. Select either of the options to be able to contact the Upwork Support Team.

Hi I'm having issues as well trying to contact support with the chat bot I am having billing issues every time I try and use over 5 different billing addresses it says can't charge this billing method very frustrating

Hey there,

 

I'm trying to pay a freelancer that I've hired, but when I go to actually make the payment, Upwork rejects it.

It only happens on my buisiness card, whcih led me to believe it was probably an issue with my bank, but I've contacted them and they seem to think there should be no problem on their end.

My personal card (with another bank) works, but being a business expense, I don't want it going through my personal bank account.

I've tried contacting "support" (generous use of the word) but the AI chat bot sends me round in circles, I have a support request ticket number that I created a week ago and never got any response from.

Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks Joanne, but I've been told that a number of times and nothing has happened.
Can you give me a more precise answer as to when an agent will actually help me fix this?

I had my payment methods declined, however I am using same cards as before.  I tried to contact support in vain. It's a limbo, from bot to articles, to same stupid answer from bot. I need to pas freelancers.

I like upwork, but their support methods need some freelancers to work on.

Can anyone assisst please?

I've updated my payment info added a new credit card, and paid any balances. This is still giving me errors and I can't unpause a project I need to get back up and running asap.

It seems as if my account is suspended, and I can't make a new job post. I've been on UpWork for years, and we've spent over $250K on the platform, but it's a shame that we were unable to resolve this issue due to a lack of customer service.

I do agree on poor customer support. You can't even chat to any human being or even send an email.  It's just  a stupid bot that keeps on asking the same questions in cycle.

Only way is to come to this forum and post and wait.

Asking for assistance directly may not provide sufficient information for the chatbot to be able to assist you appropriately - for example, creating a ticket for you with the right team according to your concern.

I have been struggling to pay freelancers since friday ( 4 days ago). 

I found that my bank blocked the cards for a technical issue ( sytem verification they do it oonce every 5years). Anyway , sorted with the bank this morning. Updated my card on upwork. Still upwork is refusing funding the milestones already reached. Nobody contacted me from upwork. Only nice words on this forum. Is anyone on board?

Hello everyone!

I have been trying to release the payment. It marks as Active & Funded, the work was submitted 2 weeks ago and I have been trying to pay since then through different browsers and moments, and still receiving the message "could not approve submission". 

Talking to the bot was not useful.

Hello, I have encountered such a problem. I hired a Freelancer to complete the task, the payment was successful, the money was withdrawn from the Paypal account, but at the same time the freelancer writes to me that he cannot accept my offer because my account is on hold. There is only a message in the mail about the successful payment. What's going on with my account, I can't see the money on Upwerk, they've evaporated and my account isn't working. Please help me.
