Upwork desktop app not working

Hello Support, 


Please help me out here. My Upwork desktop is keeps saying "checking if the site connection is secure" for hours now. This is the the first time I'm experiencing this kind of issue, since I started using the desktop app to track my Hours. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it again, but I'm experiencing the same problem. please help me out here as this is time sensitive and I'm losing valuable time
