Asked to verify someone's account on their behalf

Hi guys. 

I have very recently joined Upwork. Today I got a message on Freelancer from someone offering me 50$ to verify their new Upwork profile on their behalf. Apparently they have already uploaded their ID document, but needed me to take a video call from Upwork to verify them "because we look so alike"

I find this incredibly odd. Has anyone else experienced this before? I used to work on Elance a few years ago and this has never happend before. Unfortunately I can't report or block the person as I don't know who they are. I only have their Gmail address, if that would be of any help to admins.
