Digital Marketers please help me. What should I call myself here on Upwork ?

Hi,

If you are a great digital marketer meaning you do PPC, SMM, SEO, Copy writting, and E-mail markting, do you call yourself a digital marketer or choose one of your skills e.g. PPC specialist ?

Maybe try listing a few in your headline, and focusing on them in your profile. Like "Email Marketing and Social Media Management Specialist" or something. What is in your headline doesn't prevent you from mentioning other related skills in your profile summary. I'm a "B2B Content Marketing Copywriter" for example, then I talk about my skills (business blogging, social media, email, etc.) and why they matter to clients in my profile.

So when you say you do PPC ad, do you mean you do the PPC marketing compaign or just writting the ads themselves?

I mean just writing the ads themselves. When you try to do everything, you end up being good at nothing.

You are helpful and nice. Unlike many ppl on here who like to put those starting out down.

Everyone is probably wondering why you have a new name, since you used to be "Faisal" ... and now you're not.

I see from this and your comment in another thread about bullying that you're feeling like people are picking on you. Although some impatience is bleeding through, I really think that most people are just being honest and direct with you. Perhaps you are giving us the wrong impression, but your posts suggest that you really don't know how to do any of the things you're considering.

Everyone starts somewhere, but freelancing really isn't for beginners. Clients hire freelancers because they want someone with specific expertise. For example, my attorney clients come to me because even though they are good writers in one type of writing, they don't know how to adapt that writing to make it consumer-friendly and conversion-oriented. They need it to be legally accurate, and to comply with the regulations that govern attorney advertising, and to be search engine-friendly, too.

They know how to do a couple of those things (legally accurate and compliant), but they don't know how to do all of them, and they don't know how to blend them, so they look for someone who does. That's what a client will expect from you, if you undertake to sell services in one of these areas--that you have the level of expertise required to not just create content, but to create content that does a very specific job in a very specific context.

In SMM, all what you( correct me if I'm wrong) is post content on social media accounts and thats for content writers do.

Faisal, I think you have no idea what you are doing and unless there are loads of jobs in your native language maybe "writing" is not for you...

You're wrong. In another post, you wrote, "I did my research on Google about the average pay for content writer/copywriter." Since you know how to Google, maybe you should Google social media marketing (SSM)?

 No.

In SMM, what you do is develop an intimate knowledge of each platform, its demographics the most effective time of day for posting, the type of content its users respond to, the mix of promotional and non-promotional content that meets that platform's norms, etc.

Then, you analyze your client's market to determine which outlets they are most likely to frequent and when. You prioritize among those markets, so as to focus your efforts on a sector that's being missed or the most profitable sector or a short list of populations.

Then, you write and curate content that appeals to your client's target market AND fits the demographics and social norms of each particular site, and post it or schedule it to post at the times considered optimal for that demographic on that particular platform. While, of course, carefully maintaining a consistent brand image across platforms and with all of your client's other web and real-world branding.

Tiffany,

Great summation here about SMM! You really get the point across about the complexity and organization it takes to successfully manage a client's social media strategy.

Hi all,

A few posts have been removed from this thread and I'd like to remind everyone to keep in mind our Community Guidelines when posting in the forums. Thank you.

Why the name change, Faisal or your new name?

Why the collective "We" vs. the individual you purported to be in all 2 dozen of your threads?

@ Moderators - do you realize this person has been spamming all the forums for days now?

I also asked about the name change, and that post was one of those that got removed.

I'm just wondering if it is against the rules to ask if someone is posting from two accounts, or if the poster went to the trouble of changing his name in the prescribed manner.
