I wonder if Upwork is taking any notice of these suspicions about their pet whiz kid. Are they all about to get zapped?

No, of course not. Pet Whiz Kids can do as they please, including creating fake jobs and fake contracts and get away with it, being rewarded for their clearly fake cr@p every step of the way.

I meant our suspicions/posts. You may have just tipped the balance.

I've actually taken the course.
No, fake feedback is not a service offered by Danny or his team.
Copying the profile overview is NOT advised at all.
The biggest thing I got from Danny's course: how to view myself, my skills, and my business.
I think it ties back into what Petra said, if you don't have the skills or certain aptitudes (like standing your ground when clients try to lowball you), then no course is going to help you become amazing at the skill you are trying to sell.
Before trying the course, I implemented advice he gave for free on his blog and saw great results. I bought the course and here I am now with a full-time income.
I'm not saying that the course can make it possible for everyone to do what I have done. Not everyone needs to make as much as I need to make (thanks Maryland). I understand my skills and dedication to customer service have done that. But it DID help me.
Now that feedback could be fake or not, but no one offered to write up fake feedback for me so.....

I have not read previous posts, but my short experience has taught me the following :
well paid translation are specialised :
legal
medical
technical
localization (apps, games)
money making related (SEO, amazon listings, etc.)
So if you can provide a portfolio or get some experience in those fields, you can find what you are looking for.
Otherwise, general 20 pages translation will never pay.
imho

It depends on what you mean by 'will never pay'. I've come across 'highly recommended' top-rated freelancers who will simply plonk the texts into Google translate or their twenty-year-old TMS and send you the result without even reading through it. (I had to do the correcting! And some of the errors would have made your hairs stand on end, believe me.)
In that respect even lowball jobs pay very well.

I don't know why I am not receiving emails!
But, what should I do guys? I was thinking of gaining some feedback so I can rank higher, but I cannot afford the time to pitch for lowballs here, as I am busy working for other clients that really pay well. I cannot afford to do a 10USD/hour work when I am doing a 35USD/hour work, if you know what I mean.
What can I do? Is there any way I can land a 25 USD/hour work (at least) with little to no feedback?
Cheers

If you are doing "really well with other clients", why do you sound so desperate to get a gig on Upwork?
If you can't afford to invest a little time on your profile and finding decent clients on Upwork - both of which take time - then you are not going to find the jobs. This is not a get-rich-quick platform for freelancers. It's hard graft and very few people survive entirely from Upwork earnings. Getting a job is like dieting. You have to find out for yourself what suits your metabolism, and no punter who is getting rich off your back is going to be able to tell you what works for you, any more than the people who tell you you can lose 40lb in a week if you only eat strawberries.
