Would it be a violation of any standards to just politely ask him to stop?
No, it would not. And you don't have to be polite either. He is not a "client" that Upwork should be upholding.
Probably, he would get mad at you. Let the fetish continue.
BTW, I have never seen that job offer but I guess it's because I don't look for English language jobs other than translation projects.
In any case, I am going to laugh really hard if I ran into it one of these days, guys.
I don't know if this is the same person, but I have just done a job search - only with "shrink". Interestingly I came up with some quite pornographic stuff that has slid past Upwork's ever-vigilant team.
I have not reported it - because the new system of contacting CS takes up too much time, and by the time you think you can actually submit a request, you get a message saying you cannot submit it.
ETA: The "client" does not hide his/her requirements the job post is headed:
Shrinking fetish erotica writer needed

Perhaps it has been removed. But I can still find it . . .
A sort of now you see it now you don't. Perhaps UW has got round their own ToS by allowing the client private invitations (to his sexy shrink club).
I can find the job that has the words (both) "fetish" and "erotica" in the job title.
I notice that in addition to the client's apparent obsession with a woman who shrinks, he (?) seems to have a thing for pay rates that are rather small...
