how much should I charge for writing a blog?

How much should I charge for writing a blog of 500 to 800 words?

Genuine (serious) answers:

(1) Multiply your hourly rate times the amount of time required to do the writing.

(2) As much as the market will bear.  (The maximum that the market will bear.)

(3) Whatever you think it is worth to you to be writing, rather than lazing around beachside or reading a good novel.

I was going to say- "As much as you can get", but Janean got in ahead of me.

Mike, there really isn't a set answer to this. Many Upwork writers charge $5 or less for a blog post of that length. I charge $65 for most 500 word posts, but sometimes much more if there's research involved. Other writers here have standard minimums of $85 or $100 or even more for a post of that length.

Your question is a little like "how much does a car cost?" Maybe $500. Maybe $25,000. Maybe $385,000. Depends on the quality, the brand, the market, etc.

Mike, this will serve as a guideline for professional rates.
