At a few months shy of his one-year anniversary, ArJae is one of the newest members of the Community Engagement team. ArJae is much more than just a moderator and now’s your chance to get to know him!
How did you come to join Upwork?
ArJae: I was referred by one of my friends who is part of the Customer Support team. I was looking for a job where I can settle and preferably a work-from-home setup. This friend of mine really knows how I work and insisted that this would be a great fit for my skills so I went ahead and gave it a shot. Being part of the Community Team is the most challenging yet exciting thing that ever happened in my career.
What do you do in your role?
ArJae: Generally, we're acting as the voice of the Community via daily moderation including reviewing discussions and ideas, replying, and engaging our groups. We keep topics and discussions organized and relevant, most especially maintaining a positive and engaging atmosphere within the community. And the most important part of our role is to ensure Community Guidelines are being adhered to and address situations where they are not.
What’s your favorite part of your role?
ArJae: I love working closely with Community members and colleagues to create meaningful connections and collaborate towards solutions. Collecting information about Community members’ needs, wants, and concerns. This part of the job helped me to have a great deal of contact with the public and be able to effectively communicate with a wide range of diversified people.
What’s your favorite part of working with Upwork?
ArJae: The working environment. Mainly my superiors and colleagues. I do believe that working with someone and something you're comfortable with will surely boost your confidence. I'm confident to say that I'm working with a successful workforce that makes me perform to my highest ability on a daily basis. Being part of this Family will lead me to success and happiness both personally and professionally.
What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?
ArJae: Prioritizing my family over other obligations is what I do in my free time. Like doing sets of activities (kids’ choice lol), sharing household chores, and going out for a walk with the dogs. I also find time to train and play with my dogs and take care of my automobiles.
