Why is my withdrawal is currently restricted on my account?

Hi,

 

Why is my withdrawal is currently restricted on my account? 


Earlier, I had got an email saying "We are sorry to have to take this step, but please note that this matter is a result of an issue with your client’s billing method. As such, please contact your client directly to discuss this matter further."

 

Why do I need to be affected by my client's billing method? It's your responsibility to solve that issue with my client. How would I know about any billing method issue of my client before taking the project? 


I NEED TO WITHDRAW MY EARNINGS ASAP.

Hi, I'm having similar issue. When I  tried withdrawing to my paypal account, I got an error saying "Withdrawal is currently restricted on your account. Please contact Upwork Support."

Hi I am facing the same issue my earning is restricted why i can,t withdraw my amount please resolve that on upwork support no one contacted with me i open two tickets but no one replies i need my earning or i cand withdraw please resolve that issue i need my earnings as soon as possible

I am also having same issue, even I contacted support, but no respond instead of system generated replies from two days, and there was none of notification from upwork about this issue. Can anybody here for help me out?

I am having this same issue. I want to withdraw to my bank account and it said that my withdrawal is currently restricted and I need to withdraw my earnings asap in order to fix my bills.

I applied a ticket and there it shows solved but no action was taken by upwork to resolve the issue i dont know why it is taking so long

Hopefully your client can clear up the issue soon. The quicker the client does that, the better for you.

 

But this *may* also mean that money your client paid to you may have to be reversed... This *could* be a result of a dodgy payment method having been used.

Hi,

I received a messages from upwork that I was supposed to refund some amount I was paid for the job I did for a client due to the client's bank demand. It was really annoying because I worked for the money and it made me question the essence of escrow, but I however coincidentally fell sick and couldn't either attend to the issue or do any work for a while. I completed a job 2 weeks ago so I have some amount in my account balance and I tried to withdraw it but I was told withdrawal is restricted on my account. why? 

 

Why do I need to be affected by my client's billing method? It's your responsibility to solve that issue with my client. How would I know about any billing method issue of my client before taking the project?

It's really a terrible experience.

 

Just like in your case, I couldn't respond promptly to debunk the claims. Now, I am restricted from making withdrawals even after refunding the disputed amounts.
