Do Freelancers work from home?

I'm very new to upwork and freelancing.

I'm experienced embedded and desktop software engineer.

I'm looking to work part-time on upwork.  Will clients allow me to work from home?  I can go to office once in a while but mostly I need to work form home?

I never work from home. I would waste too much time dropping off my kid and picking it up again, so I rent a small office near the kindergarten. If a client pays me to travel and work elsewhere sure, why not. Renting an office with all the infrastructure is cheaper than renting a larger place so I have room for an office at home.

Okay, I want to add something as well, Yes I work from home but obviously not sitting in the lobby, I have a separate room you can call it my office.
