Not receiving connects as a new account

Hi there! I created an Upwork account on July 10th, 2024, and I haven't received any connects since then. I have checked my Connects History and there's still nothing. I would be so grateful if you could help me with this issue. Thank you!

Hi Sophie,

We're now relying on each new freelancer being prompted directly on the site with the amount of Connects they'll need to purchase in order to submit Proposals. If they are prompted to subscribe to our Freelancer Plus membership plan or purchase Connects they'll be advised on how many Connects that entails at that time. I won't be able to confirm much more than that, but I appreciate your interest and your engagement on this thread advising new freelancers when they first join Upwork.

Thank you Andrea. I wish there would be a way to prompt freelancer when they create their account that they will need Connects to do anything instead of them having to come to the Community Forum and take human ressources away from more important issues.

I can see that your profile is already live and you've completed your bio, portfolio, work history etc. You can go ahead and browse available jobs in your field and submit proposals.

Kindly also note that Upwork currently requires new freelancers to do one of two things before being able to submit a proposal for a job: subscribe to their Freelancer Plus membership plan for $20 USD a month, or purchase 100 Connects for $15 USD. After you fulfill this requirement, you will also receive 50 free Connects to further help you get started on Upwork.

1. Completing your profile: Ensure your profile is 100% complete to qualify for a few initial free connects.
2. Upwork Skill Tests: Passing Upwork skill tests can also earn you free connects.
3. Regular Job Proposals: Sometimes, Upwork gives free connects as part of promotional offers for submitting job proposals.
4. Monthly Connects: Every freelancer on a basic plan receives 10 free connects each month.
5. Invitations: If clients invite you to apply to jobs, you won't use any connects.

I registered on Upwork about two months ago and completed my profile 100%. It was mentioned that new users receive 10 free Connects, but I never received them.

I have checked my email and notifications on the platform but haven’t found any information regarding this. Additionally, there is no record of these Connects in my "Connects History."

Could you please help me resolve this issue and clarify why I haven’t received the promised Connects?
