Today we’re reintroducing the proposal boosting feature with some changes, but first, we’d like to share our findings from the test with you. You can read the original announcement here. We received a lot of valuable feedback upon the initial introduction of this feature in September. Today we’re reintroducing the feature with some changes, but first, we’d like to share our findings from the test with you.

For many freelancers, the question at the core of this feature is ‘does boosting help me get jobs?’ Yes. The highest bidders who occupied the 3 boosted slots during the beta collectively had a 37% higher chance of being hired for the job, with the highest bidder enjoying a 43% boost in their chance of being hired. Of course, there is no guarantee that boosting one’s proposal would have this effect for every job application—after all, the final hiring decision is always up to the client. But the average effects of boosting that we discovered in this test look promising!

How will the new experience be different?

Based on your valuable feedback and our findings from the test, there are two notable changes to Boosted Proposals. First, we are changing the “organic price” (i.e., the price to submit a regular, non-boosted application) to match our standard pricing tiers. Second, we are changing the label from “Highly Interested” to “Boosted”.
