How do you use consultations?

Today we announced the gradual rollout of consultations as part of Project Catalog™ starting with some freelancers within WMSD, Digital Marketing, Legal, and Accounting categories. With the arrival of this feature, we’re curious to know how you’ve used the consultations feature to grow your programming or development business?

Do consultations help you plan for large projects? Are you able to provide more accurate estimates? These are just some examples of the possible benefits of using consultations. We’d love to hear more from you!

If you have any questions or feedback on the feature itself, visit our Help article and join the Community discussion.

Cheers,
Mike

Lots of clients hire me to work for them purely as a consultant.

Here is how that works:

My hourly rate is posted on my profile page.

The client hires me using an hourly contract.

Then I spend time consulting with the client. That can include setting up meetings to talk, or writing reports based on materials they send me.

The amount of time is multiplied by my hourly rate, and that is what they client is billed.
