Hello Upwork,
I am at my wit's end with Upwork and ready to close my account.
My business bank account was hacked in mid-March, the bank canceled my bank card, and I had to wait 7 days for a new bank card to be issued.
As I could not put my personal bank card on Upwork, due to tax and accounting transparency reasons, I had to wait 7 days to update my Upwork account with the new card details once they arrived - In the intervening time, I had explained this to both the freelancer I was working with (who was fine to wait) - as they were due payment, AND I explained it to Upwork. Upwork said once my bank account details were updated, the suspension would be lifted.
Once my new card arrived, I paid the fees owed, but a week later and the suspension is still on my account. Upwork said it may take a few days for the account suspension to be lifted !!!! I have trialled adding several bank cards to see if the issue is with the business bank account but it is not.
I cannot get through to Upwork on the phone (i keep getting cut off).
I am ready to close my account - so I would greatly appreciate if Upwork could swiftly review my account and respond with the issue or reactivate my account.
