How to restore an account closed accidently?

If you need help restoring your account, we’ll need to ask you to confirm some private account details in order to help you. At Upwork, protecting your privacy is our priority. With this in mind, it would be best if you reach out directly to our support team so they can assist you within a private and secure channel of communication. 

 

 

How do I reach a human in customer support?

 

  1. Select Get Support at the bottom of the Help Center page
  2. Type a question or topic and select "Send." The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. If we don't find the information you need after a few tries, you’ll see an option under the article selections to "Contact Support"
  4. Select "Contact Support" and follow the options provided

for the past couple of years, I'm not active in Upwork and just want to activate again this year and find work, however after activating my account it says the profile is no longer available and now all the reviews from my clients are gone and the status I gain before. can I still retrieved the profile that I have before including the portfolio and reviews from clients?

I created an account quite a few years ago and in 2020 I got an email Log in to reset your profile. I ignored it, because I was working on something else and didn't need to freelance. Now after 2 years I want to start freelancing for real and I can't seem to login/signup to the account. I create another account(this one) to contact support, and I'll close it after I get the account back.

Can please someone help me?

Hey there Upwork community and support personnel!

 

I had created an Upwork profile a few years back and I never utilized it. I logged back into it a few days ago, filled in my info, and browsed for some jobs... then, when I tried logging back in that same evening, I was hit with the 'oops! username is incorrect' error message on the login screen.

 

Tried different browsers, clearing cookies etc. Nothing seems to have helped.

 

There really should be some way of submitting a support request at the login page, since this error message is apparently, quite common.

 

So users, like me, are forced to create a 2nd account, on another mail, just to post a support request because for some mysterious reason their account email is not recognized anymore.

 

Is there a 'standard' way of solving this issue?

i cant use email because it is connected to my closed account. So can you re-open my account or fully delete it so i can make new account.I closed account a month ago and wanted to start again now.It shows email is already in use but when i try to connect i shows email is not recognized.

Myself Aqib, I have created this account to seek resolution of the issue i am facing with my original account. As soon as i changed my email address, i am unable to sign in with my new email. Hey Aqib, clear cache and cookies, close your brower and reboot your computer. Use Google Chrome and the process should work. Have a great day!

Hello everyone! 

 

I created this account like minutes ago since I'm unable to access my other upwork account. I got an email mid this year that I need to log in to it or else it will be deleted or deactivated (or something). Is there a way to retrieve my old account? Or should I move forward with this new one?

Hi there,

I am a us citizen who created an upwork account a few months ago, now my account has been suspended permanently.

I also created an agency on upwork using the name of a company that I own and I have all the legitimate documents.

But they say they couldn't verify my identity.

I tried to call them, but no way to call them directly and no way to have a video call.

Moreover, the balance available on the account is on hold by Upwork.

How could this happen? How could native americans not be verified?

Even ones who own a company?

Could anybody help me please?

I can see that your concern has reached the appropriate team and action has been taken on your account. It looks like they have restored your account completely as a freelancer.
