Possibility of releasing the Upwork Desktop Application source code

As a conscientious software engineer and computer user, I refrain from installing software that I cannot personally compile on my machine. However, I've observed that the exclusive method for tracking my time, crucial for Hourly Payment Protection, involves running a black-box proprietary software, the Upwork Desktop Application.

While I am comfortable with recording my activity during work hours, my concern arises from installing software that lacks the possibility for scrutiny. Is there any possibility that Upwork could release the source code of the Upwork Desktop Application under a free and open-source license, or at the very least, a source-available license?
