Unable to add/use payment method

i am not able to pay for jobs with my visa card from Ghana. The final confirm and pay button remains grey and doesnt allow for payment to be made.

 

any help?

Hi all,

 

In general, this happens when the transactions you’re attempting on your card keep being declined by the bank. Please contact your card-issuing bank for more information about the specific charge decline.

If you’re still experiencing issues after checking with your bank, you can contact support by:

 

  1. Please visit Contact Support and click the ‘Chat with Upwork' button.
  2. Type a question or topic and select ‘Send’. The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. The chatbot will ask you to confirm if you need additional help. If you confirm that you need additional help, you will be asked to confirm the account type you need help with.
  4. From there, the support options available to you will be listed. Select either of the options to be able to contact the Upwork Support Team.

i am facing this issue in my billing method.my card is verified and even its not expired my payment method and everything is alright. i also contact with my bank and there is no any issue in my account  and card so why i am facing this issue. i talk with contact customer support and in this its said that there might be an issue with my card check your card expiry date and verified check but i done all these.i want to resolve this issue urgently please add my billing method.

Hello i have changed and used so many types of payment method such as paypal and my business card, the money is taken on my bank and paypal but i saw that the payment was declined on upwork and always i get this message

 

"Sorry, we couldn't charge the billing method you selected. Please try a different one. If you still need help, contact customer support."

 

i am trying to contact the support but the chatbot didn't let me to do that

I have been trying to make a payemnt with my valid billing method but the transaction has been rejected 20 times now. I have also tried adding 2 other bank account details and they have been rejected.  I have called Upwork client support 11 times now and they have not been of any support sadly. Every second day I have to call them gain to help get this exact same matter resolved, but still no solution. @ Upwork Accounts/billing method department  I need your help???????

I added 3 payment methods, and I still can't make a payment, the charges keep getting reversed instantly by Upwork. My credit card companies said it's Upwork that's doing that. Is there some type of financial hold? I haven't received any notification on why this is happening. I'm a new account.

After the payment fails, I get this message: "Recent charge failed"

Just joined upwork and tried hiring a freelancer and none of my cards work when i try setting up a fixed contract. I was eventually able to set up an hourly contract(by mistake). Tried canceling and wanted to pay for freelancer to get started with the work and sent a bonus and now i have a negative on my account and a "Recent Charge Failed". I have enough balance to cover the cost. What is wrong?

I have been a client on UpWork for few years now, and everything was going well with our freelancers. 

 

In the past few weeks, everytime UpWork charges my card BOA will block the transaction as fraud, then I have to call the bank and try it again and it goes through.

 

Yesterday this happend again, and again I called the bank and cleared the transaction because all my contracts were on hold. It's been over a day now and all my freelancers cannot work because the contacts are on hold, I submitted a ticket and no response.

 

It's embarresing that in 2024, where I pay alomost $10,000/Month in UpWork and I still can't reach anyone to help, no phone number, no chat (real person). If UpWork is so broke to provide a proper, fast support to thier clients maybe they need to hire someone from UpWork talent to manage support. We spent hunders of thousands in UpWork and still can't get a very basic support.

 

See screenshot for the support request, they don't even bother adding auto-respond.

 

Any advice or help please as we have a deadline this week.

Hi, I have been charged before starting the contract from my master card and now after closing the closing the contract I had and Unpaid balance. I tried to clear the balance but now it's saying :"Sorry, we couldn't charge the billing method you selected. Please try a different one." Please help

I set up my account today, first with a Visa Card and then with a Mastercard.  BOTH times I tried to set up the cards, I was told they were NOT approved.  However, via text messages, we have been charged the full amount on the contract on both cards.  Yet, the person who billed us and whom we want to pay is seeing "pending" on his side of the UPwork platform.  How can we determine which card charge is actually being held to pay the person we want to pay?  Is there a phone number anyplace so that we can determine which credit card to remove from the platform and allow the other card to pay the bill we want to pay?

As far as I know, all is good. I had trouble getting Upwork to accept any
credit cards from me. Then there were charges on both cards, but then those
disappeared, and I finally closed the account. I do not think there are
any more problems to address, but I will you know if we find charges on
those credit cards,, as I finally did a bank to bank transfer.

worry about.

Hi. I am trying to pay my freelancer but my payment methods keep declining. I have tried several methods/cards etc and all continue to decline. I've opened a support ticket but it's been 5 days and I haven't received any help. I just want to pay my bills so my freelancer can continue work for me.

Upwork won't let me pay even though I have tried many times with different cards. I am the cardholder and I can't pay in any way.

When I call the banks that my cards belong to they inform me that the payment is “declined by Upwork”. If it is not resolved today I will look for other services. I can't buy services with money!
