hi everyone,

so it is my first time using Upwork and I just wanted to be sure if it is a scam or not. So basically what happened is that I applied for a project, which was a copy-paste for beginners. A couple of hours later I got a reply saying that they hired me and wanted me to talk to this person on telegram. Now I am just curious because I don't know if this happens a lot or not but do most convos happen in Telegram or in WhatsApp? Thank you.

This is a scam. You were not hired. Communicating outside of Upwork before having a contract on Upwork is a violation of Upwork's Terms of Service.
