0% fee when you bring your own client

Hello,

In May 2017 I received a message from Upwork with a special promotion with 0% fee when I bring my own client to Upwork (I am a Top rated freelancer) and I received an invitation linked to send it to my client for register and activate this 0% fee. A few days ago, I send it to my client and he registered and started a Upwork contract and now, when the contracted is just ended I realized that I have standard 20% fee. What to do in this situation? It's obvious that I was not intended to bring my client to pay 20% to Upwork.

If i want to bring my own client to upwork, will he still have to pay 15% project fee? If we have a project of let's say 5k USD, will we pay 15% of total amount or roughly how much? Please reply asap, because we are waiting on this.

 You are top rated so you may qualify for the "0% bring your own client" deal but ONLY if your client does NOT yet have an Upwork account and you need a special link for the client to sign up to Upwork on. If you qualify you pay no fee.

The special link is something you'll need Support to send you.

The client will still pay the 2.75% processing fee.

If you do have to pay the fee, it won't be 15%. It's 20% of the first $500 and 10% thereafter (up to $10k), so on a $5k contract, it would be $550, or 11%.

Bring Your Own Client program is currently only available for Top Rated and Rising Talent freelancers. As you are not meeting those requirements, you can still send a link to your profile to your client and they can sign up for an Upwork account and hire you for a contract. You'll be paying the standard Service Fee.

I have a client ready for a job right now, but I would prefer to do business with this company through Upwork. They have never used Upwork before.
