0% fee when you bring your own client

Hello,

 

In May 2017 I received a message from Upwork with a special promotion with 0% fee when I bring my own client to Upwork (I am a Top rated freelancer) and I received an invitation linked to send it to my client for register and activate this 0% fee. A few days ago, I send it to my client and he registered and started a Upwork contract and now, when the contracted is just ended I realized that I have standard 20% fee. What to do in this situation? It's obvious that I was not intended to bring my client to pay 20% to Upwork.

Thank you for the information. I think I have too many clients now to
qualify for rising talent. Do you know how I can get the Top Rated status?
I would really like to bring this client in and I know they would be doing
business with other freelancers, but since I would be losing money by
bringing them on to Upwork, it sort of doesn't make sense for me to do that
from a financial standpoint. Does that make sense?

To get the Top Rated badge, you'll need to fulfill requirements for becoming Top Rated. Hope this info helps.

Question: I've got a "new client" link from last year and I've used it once already, will it still work if I send it to another client/this year or I need to get a new link. If I need a new link, can you resend one!

I recently tried my link, and it no longer seems to work - do I need to request a fresh one?

...and one other thing: What's the procedure, precisely, as far as who I contact after my offline client has used the link, once I've got a working link?

Just give the client your profile link.

Not being top-rated, you don't qualify for any special deals.

My name is Sharon. The moderator responded to someone named Mariana. The note says the feature of 'no fees for bringing clients' is only for Rising Talent and Top Rated freelancers. I am a Top Rated freelancer with $40K of work on Upwork and a 100% Job Success rate.

 

Please explain why it is not available to me.

Sharon, this is a thread on a public discussion forum, with dzens of participants. Goran responded to Mariana. What he told Mariana obviously does not apply to you, it was in response to Mariana's question.

 

Presumably you clicked on "Email me when someone replies" below - which is why you got an email when someone posted in the same thread.
