I am unsure if I am happy or disappointed to see that another freelancer is having the same issues. There is NOT a link available to change back to private (as the "help" box says) on my profile settings..the options are greyed out and cannot be selected; and when I attempt to open a ticket I am unable to submit the request as the "submit" button seems to do nothing.
Just as the OP says, I have been actively looking, have active interviews, and three ongoing contracts which provide intermittant work. Perhaps the justification for changing someone's setting to private should be reconsidered by UpWork to include only those who have a lack of activity rather than a lack of earnings. I can forsee this being a regular problem for a vast number of freelancers. I am also concerned that the "private" setting will reduce the number of Upwork invitations and notifications from Talent Specialists.
Can I also get my profile visibility to public, I am currently on contract and this kind of feature is not really good, 20% is on upwork on my earnings and this is kinda disappointing.

Please go to Find Work page on your account and use the options listed in a pop-up message when you click on your visibility status to set your profile back to public.
