mostly contracts with clients should contains clause of contract termination conditions and liabilities on the terminated party.
do you have that clause in your contract with them?

Not on upwork.

Sidra: All contracts are supposed to end.
That is fine.
What I am wondering about is the "without paying you" part.
The client does not have a way to "not pay you" unless you agree to a refund.
So what you should do is: Don't agree to a refund.

What do you want to do? Do you want to be paid? If so, do nothing. If you submitted the work for payment, after 14 days the payment will automatically be released to you by Upwork. If he asks for a refund, do nothing.
