I live in India and I want to work for a US client on contract basis. Do I have to set up my own firm/ company to bill the client and pay taxes in India or can I bill them as an individual contractor on long-term basis? I really need help understanding how this will work.
What if they hire me through Upwork as an international employee? Since I will be in another counrty will they have to withheld taxes?
