Client Accepted Proposal And Then Deleted Message

Hi, I received a message from a client: saying that they accepted my proposal and gave me an email address - to which they would reply with the assignment and other information. I replied immediatley, informing them that I have sent the email they requested. Then after an hour, I checked my messages and it says “message deleted”. What could be the reason for this?

cuz it was a scam

You should know that you have to keep communication on upwork and then you won't get scammed by the common check scammer.

Thanx Jennifer. As you can see, I am new to Upwork. But I was under the impression that the payments was to be done strickly on upwork.

That is a given. But scammers will try to take communication outside of upwork so they don't leave a trail. Upwork does not allow communication outside of upwork before hire to keep you safe.
