Hi all,

I have received an invitation to a project and the client is asking for this information. What do you think? Anyone had the same situation before?? I'd really appreciate help with this. Thanks!!

Absolutely not. Your identity check is done by Upwork so there is no need to send your ID to anyone else. It sounds like a set-up for identity theft.

It is probably not a scam, but were it, they'd ask for the same thing. Refer the client to your profile, and to your website if you have one. That, in fact, was my reason for putting up a website for my business: to prove that I was a real company.

Offer to sign any reasonable Non-Disclosure Agreement. If that is insufficient, run, don't walk, to the nearest esit.
