How to add old hours?

Is there a way to add much older hours that have not been officially logged?

I've been working thru Upwork for the past year or so, but have not needed to formally log hours for what have mostly been small projects. I'm just wondering if there's a way to log these old hours.

I do see in the help guides that the Add Manual Time function only applies to jobs within the past week, and that my client has to agree to it. Is there a way for the client and I to agree on a set amount of hours to add to my total Upwork experience? Or is it too late? Thanks.

Hey Andrew,

Adding hours means your clients will have to pay for it, and manual time is only for the past week. So, I guess this is not what you are looking for.

The only way to "add hours to your Upwork experience" is to get an hourly paid job and log the hours by the desktop app.

Happy freelancing!

Andrew,

Freelancers are able to log hours and edit their Work Diary during the Work Week and during the freelancer review period on Monday from 00:00 midnight to 11:59 a.m. UTC. It's not possible to add hours after that.

Valeria:  Is it necessary to log hours on fixed price?  I only use APP for hourly and nothing for fixed price.

Prashant,

Jess is correct, only hours logged on hourly contracts count on the freelancer's profile. You can still use Upwork App to track hours you spend working on your fixed price contracts for your own record. However, since the client isn't billed for those hours, they will not display on your profile.

Your client would have to set up a bonus payment to pay you for that time, if they are willing. In the future, make sure you're logging your hours weekly and using the time tracker app for hourly contracts. If you're not into that kind of tracking, then you should consider fixed price contracts.

Here's some information on the differences between the two types of contracts:

And here are articles about client payment options, including bonus instructions, on both hourly and fixed-price contracts:

Hi Jess, thank you for your reply.

To clarify: I'm only looking to be able to log the old hours in order to upgrade my profile. Some clients prefer contractors who have logged at least 100 hours. Is there a way to do this?

Nope. And fixed-price contracts do not count for hours logged, because no hours are logged.

You can still submit proposals for those jobs where clients have set a preference for minimum hours.

If you want to "boost" your profile with more hours worked showing, you'll need to work a few hourly contracts.

You can't add hours, but your client can pay you using the bonus option. Or, the client can set a fixed price contract and funded milestone for the value of the work. You can submit a request for payment and indicate that the work has been completed and receive payment via that method.
