Can upwork cut this pending payment out for top rated freelancers? I mean a freelancer works hard and upwork already benefits from this and the client decides to give them a bonus, yet upwork feels the need to hold on to it for 5 days for what?

Thank you for your message. I am sorry to hear how you feel. To help protect everyone using the platform, Upwork maintains a security period for all transactions, both payments and refunds. It gives us time to process and clear the payments, and resolve any disputes before releasing your funds. Please note that 5 days security period is applicable on all payments and this includes the bonus payments as well.
