Phishing

It would have been nice to have been notified that the proofreading job was a scam. Hours and hours of testing and online questions only to receive counterfeit check for office equipment. If this **Edited for community guidelines** guy was kicked off I should have been notified. Orthomal scam.

John:

Don't take it personally. Thousands and thousands of newbies are targeted with exactly the same scam "jobs."

If it makes you feel any better, after you have been here much longer you will be able to detect the scammers within less than a second. Not an exagerration. Those of us with experience, we know immediately when we see them.

And even better: The don't bother experienced freelancers. The invites I receive area always from real clients who really want to hire me. Because scammers know that experienced freelancers never fall for their scams.

Well it’s not phishing. They steal your money without your info.
