Should I end the contract

I am a google ads specialist, working on a $150 fixed amount project that needs me setting up few campaigns. I was supposed to be a week long work but because of client delay it has been dragging on with lot of "accessory work". I think I am being stretched for no fault of mine with small additional work (though reqd for the job but not agreed upon before starting the project). Now I want to end the contract, how should i do it?

1. Should I end the contract and refund? (will that effect my JSS?)

2. Should I submit the milestone? I fear that might irk him and he might leave a bad review or raise a dispute. From my end, the work is done though.

3. Shoulod I just let it continue and let the client decide?

Thanks

Ajay

Seems you are in a difficult situation.

Senior members here at forum may better guide.

The first thing you do is discuss this with the client. Tell him what exactly was included in the original price, and what is not. For this to work, you need to define deliverables before you even accept an offer.

Most clients will understand that. If not, why should you refund? Of couse you submit for payment for the work you have done. Just going on and saying nothing is not professional.

Thanks for responding Martina, the thing is we discussed the deliverable but it keeps dragging on (with additional small tasks), like for example to set up display ads in Google he does not have the images. Plus, he asks me if I can create/format images he has provided (which I dont't do). I tried helping him every bit. He is not rude, just that he is stretching it and taking long to do even small tasks that usually takes minutes to help me finish my job quickly. That's the reason i want to call it quits, maybe I am frustrated by the delay.

If the additional tasks are immaterial compared to the total job, why not just do them. What delay? Are you in a hurry to end the contract? Why?

I am not in a hurry Martina, I have already done "extra" work I could, tasks that needs to be done on client's part is what takes time, a simple copy-pasting of a code takes 3 days, sometimes he does not respond for 4 days etc...so things have been building up that way, I am not the one to lose patience easily, I am an experienced provider.

If you simply don't want to work with this client any longer, you can easily bow out. You tell him that you had other work scheduled and unfortunately can't continue working on this contract. He might not even leave bad feedback, but if he does, have it removed using your perk. As for JSS, it's unlikely to have a large impact considering your number of total jobs.

Thanks Martina for spending time responding to my messages, found your suggestion helpful, maybe I can tell him I would not like to continue.
