Wasting connects?

If a job has been posted for, say, 2 hours or more, and the client is only interested in viewing 5-10 proposals, it's likely they've already received 10 proposals, so am I wasting connects to submit? In other words, what happens to proposals that go beyond that # that the client has chosen, whether it's 1-5, 5-10, 20-50, etc.? Shouldn't there be some kind of notification when maximum # of proposals requested by the client has been reached?

What? Clients don't get to "choose to see only X proposals".... where did that idea come from?

In "Activity on this job" section of every posting is: "Proposals: less than 5, 5-10, 20-50 and so on. Have I misunderstood the meaning of that information? If that's not what that # means, what does it mean?

It means what it says... That currently X to X number of people have already applied to that job posting...

It doesn't ACTUALLY say that, but thank you for the clarification. I misunderstood it as # of proposals the client has said they are interested in reviewing, and I think that's a pretty reasonable interpretation of that section. Glad to hear I misunderstood, so thanks.

I would have thought that "activity on this job" is a pretty good hint that it refers to "the activity on the job", no?

Not to belabor the point, but your word "hint" aptly describes what I am referring to. The other info in that section applies to activity of the client - how many invites they've sent, how many they'll interview, when they last viewed. As I have said, I interpreted the proposal # as the # of proposals they would be reviewing. I think that's a logical leap when the wording is not explicit. But thank you again for the clarification.
