I don't feel safe

Yesterday, I was trying to look for a job where I can handle email. I found one job I found interested hosted by **edited for Community Guidelines**. After submitting the proposal, she sends me a message to fill out the application. I filled it out and even uploaded my State ID and face for verification since it required to upload it and after I submit it, it says I'll hear from them in 3 -5 business days. Later on in the day, I decided to go back and check and all of a sudden the job post, proposal, and even her message was gone. I'm new to Upwork and I'm thinking about deactivating because it feels like I'm got scammed and I submitted my ID and SSN so I don't feel safe. I also posted the screenshot too.

Hi Khalil,

I looked into the client you're referring to, and I can confirm that actions have been taken against their account for violating the Upwork Terms of Service. This is an unusual request and one we don't recommend meeting. Clients typically don't need this information, and if you receive this request in the future, you can report it directly by filling a support ticket or flag the client by following the steps here so that the client and their job post can be reviewed.

Since you are new, it would be best to read up on the "Safety First!" section of the freelancer resources we have compiled, these tips for avoiding questionable jobs, this Community post and these articles for more information about working safely through Upwork.

Yes, it was a scam. You should never have given out that info.
