Business manager for an agency

Hello everyone,

I am currently a freelance translator on Upwork.

My question is: Can I be a business manager for an IT agency as well or the agency has to be related to my current freelancing category?

Thank you in advance for your answers!

Hi Javi,

Yes, you can do this, since the Business Manager agency role precisely allows you to manage proposals and contracts for all of your team members. Note that if completed by other members of your agency, these contracts would appear under the Agency profile but not your own individual freelancer profile. Feel free to check this help article to learn more.

Hi Javi,

As long as you join the Agency as a Non-Exclusive member you can continue to have your separate Upwork profile. Check out this help article for more info.

Hi Andrea,

Thank you very much for your answer.

Can you clarify one more thing to me please!

Can I submit proposals and sign contracts with clients and then delegate the work to an Agency member? For Example: I sign a contract on building a mobile application and an Android developer in the Agency does it.

Is a Business Manager of an Agency allowed to do so?

Thank you very much,

Javi

Hello Good Day!

You can keep your individual Upwork profile as long as you join the agency as a Non-Exclusive member.

Hi Joana,

Thank you very much for your answer.  I am not an IT specialist at the moment I am just learning. As I mentioned I am doing translations on Upwork at the moment.  What I want to clarify is that if I can create specialized profile  for IT Agency filling the profile with the services the Agency offering(not mine) and then become a Business Manager?

For example:  Can I sign contract to build a website with some client and work will be done by another member of an Agency?

Can I delegate the work for any Agency member(so my task will be searching, submitting and signing contracts for jobs, the real projects will be done by team members with suitable expertise )?

Is it OK to do so?

Is a Business Manager allowed to do so?

Thank you in advance for your answer!
