Hello,

Can you please tell me if it is okay that the bank account that I set up for pay out will be under my name? I created the agency account.

Hi Rachel,

Yes, that shouldn’t be the problem. You can connect a bank account to Agency account that’s in the owner’s name or is a joint account that has the owner’s name on it as a withdrawal method.

If there is any mismatch between the bank account name and Agency account name, you may be asked to clear the mismatch. In this case, you will be asked to provide documents that will prove that you own the bank account.

Also, I tried to withdraw my payment 3 times because it says that my
account number is incorrect. I used the same account number on my freelance
account.

The 4th time, it was your system who automatically withdraw the money but
it's not yet posted on my bank. Not sure if it was processed successfully.

Hi Rachel,

Have been working on Upwork since 2016. I had similar issues with the name of my bank account and profile name.

In my opinion, under your name is the best solution otherwise if your Upwork account name is on your agency name then an agency bank account will work.
